The Forest Rights and Governance Project located at the School of Habitat Studies, Mumbai invites applications for one Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship for six months. 

1. Position: Post-Doctoral Fellow, 

Location: Mumbai 

Report To: Geetanjoy Sahu, Associate Professor, School of Habitat Studies

2. Fellowship Amount: Rs. 35,000 (Consolidated) Contingency Grant for fieldwork and data collection: Rs. 60,000 (Consolidated) 

3. Tenure: Six Months 

4. Job Description: The selected candidate is required to carry out independent research and policy advocacy work on Van Panchayats in Uttarakhand. Broadly, the position requires the post-doctoral fellow to- 

(1) analyze the policy and institutional reforms in the post-Van Panchayat regime in Uttarakhand, 

(2) critically examine the implementation process of forest rights act in the Van Panchayat declared villages. 

The selected candidate is expected to do intensive fieldwork and discussion with government officers as per the requirement of the fellowship program.

 The candidate is required to produce one peer-reviewed academic article from the above assignment.
